For 29 years, PKG has been combining the tradition of humanistic education with innovative forms of learning and teaching, now enriched by two new educational programs: the European Gymnasium program and the Croatian-American Dual Diploma program.
In line with our tradition of disruptive innovation, the introduced programs further expand students’ opportunities and contribute to the development of competencies crucial for the future.
The goal of our school is to foster a culture of thoughtful learning, intellectual freedom, and personal development – founded on the best traditions of European humanistic education. We are convinced that learning is both a personal and collective journey. Every student is given the opportunity, together with teachers, to reflect on their own developmental path and to build the strengths, abilities, and qualities necessary for its realization.
PKG sets appropriate, yet high, expectations for its students, which, with continuous and individualized teacher support, enable academic progress and personal growth. The teaching methods we use encourage curiosity, critical thinking, creative expression, and open dialogue, while strengthening the sense of responsibility for one’s own learning.
In line with European tradition, we emphasize the development of linguistic and mathematical competencies, which we consider fundamental for further knowledge acquisition. We view reading, writing, and oral expression not merely as part of the teaching process, but as key tools for confident and responsible participation in daily life. At the same time, we attach equal importance to the development of digital, scientific, creative, and civic literacy, thereby preparing students not only to adapt to changes but also to actively shape them.
Through diverse projects and a rich selection of extracurricular activities, we cater to students’ interests that often cannot be covered in regular classes. The school offers a safe and stimulating environment for learning and growing, which develops individuality, cooperation, tolerance, and a sense of belonging.
